The Body Shop: Disappointing Products

Hello Everyone!

Today I thought it was about time I told you how I got on with some of the body shop products I got in my haul a few weeks ago. I am so sad to say that none of these products worked for me and I literally spent so much money (over $100) for them to just not work. I’m more disappointed about how these products are specifically for sensitive skin, but made my skin so much worse than what it already is. If you would like to know what products have disappointed me, please keep on reading. πŸ™‚

The first product is the Aloe Cream Cleanser. At first, my skin liked this cleanser, it felt nice on the skin and my skin was super soft after using it, but over time, I started noticing my skin becoming more dry and flaky. This cleanser was one a staff member recommended to me for my sensitive skin and I really wanted to love it. Unfortunately, it didn’t help my skin at all but instead made it worse so I’ll be donating it to a women’s charity in my local area.

I also got the Aloe Soothing Day Cream but have already given it to my friend. Again, at first my skin loved it but after a while, I started breaking out in rashes all over my face, it broke me out severely and my skin was so dry, it was really sore to touch. I haven’t been able to wear makeup in two weeks because of it! My skin is now starting to calm down due to the help of the only moisturiser that works for me, Cetaphil. My friend said it works amazing for her, which is great! She has combination skin so I have no idea why this didn’t work for me since it’s specifically for sensitive skin.

The next product IΒ reallyΒ wanted to love! It’s the Almond Milk & Honey Body Wash and is again specifically made for sensitive skin. This smells so good, like so good I just want to use it for the scent.. Unfortunately, this made my skin flare up so bad. I have been using it as a bath product which seems to not irritate my skin, so I am getting use out of it but I’m so upset it doesn’t work on me like it’s meant to. I have heard so many bloggers rave about this and even the staff member swore by it, so maybe I have a skin type that isn’t heard of yet? Like maybe, NOTHING WORKS FOR ME skin type.

The last product is the Almond Milk & Honey Body Lotion. Like the body wash, this irritated my skin so much. My bf however, loves it, so it’s gone to him. I do sometimes use it for hand cream but I can’t use it anymore than that otherwise my skin dries out majorly, I get rashes and just really sore skin. Again, I have heard so much rave about this and I am so upset it didn’t work for me like I really wanted it too! This smells delicious by the way guys!

So that is it for today’s post! I don’t think I’ll be purchasing anymore skin care products except my trusty Cetaphil because it’s obvious my skin hates everything else except that. If you liked reading this post, please give it a thumbs up! If you would like to stay updated with me, please subscribe to my blog – I post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6am AEST. πŸ™‚

  1. This is such a shame that you spent so much money on these products and they didn’t work. I adore the aloe day cream it suits my skin so much, I have a few items from the tea tree range and the drops of youth range that I love too but I have no idea whether or not they would suit your skin x

    1. The drops of youth I had samples of and used them, they worked alright on my skin! Really hydrated it so I may pick one up, not sure yet! I’m happy the aloe day cream worked for you! x

  2. Awww, I’m sorry none of these products worked for you 😦 It’s such a bummer when that happens. I typically stick with Cetaphil, Simple, or Philosophy when it comes to face wash and they have worked pretty well with my sensitive skin! xoxo
